Convention info:
Since its first edition, Japan Expo assigned itself two golden words: knowledge and entertainment. From Manga to J-Pop, Cosplay shows to Martial Arts, the festival tackles as much the traditional Japanese culture as the contemporary pop culture.
Japan Expo is not a simple fair but a real party event! Among the many exhibitors can be found all the editors of the Manga, Anime and video games markets, a great deal of shops, Young Creators under Japanese influence, as well as a hundredth of fanzines and amateur booths.
The festival is also a place of amazing meetings between passionate people who like to gather around thousand and one activities: conferences, fashion shows, martial arts initiation, previews, Cosplay, Karaoke contests, video games tournaments, live concerts…

Size:
I was surprised of the size of this convention. It was really big. I don’t know how big it was, but it was big enough to hold a few thousand.
Cosplay compo
Since it was the first time I saw cosplay, I found all cosplay fantastic.
I did not know there was a cosplay compo so I cannot say much about this topic.
Personal Evaluation: Diary
JAPAN EXPO DAY 1
On the first day, before I entered the expo,
I didn’t take the camera because, on the backside of the ticket it said “don’t take pictures” so I didn’t bring it along.

Sadly enough, I saw tons of cameras the whole day, and missed some nice stuff to take pictures of! Luckily I still had 2 more days!
So I enter the expo the first stand I stop at hehe “the nana stand”!I bought the cd deluxe version of Anna Tsuchiya,
and I got a ticket to go see Olivia ^^
I waited like 2 hours in the line, once I got there I figured that I didn’t have nothing to let her sign T.T!!!!
I couldn’t let het sign the cd of Anna
Luckily they where selling photo’s of her!!
So I bought one pack like 10 euro’s sheeesh expensive!!!!
Well when I saw Olivia, she was really cute in her yukata!!
Sadly I forgot my camera on the first day so I couldn’t get any pictures
Well I saw some nice cosplayers and posters and stuff, for the first day, don’t have pic’s of inside so sorry!
Olivia performed in Paris that night, sadly I couldn’t see it
JAPAN EXPO DAY 2
So I woke up at 7 o’clock and stood in the line of the expo for 2 hours, then it finally opened! There where tons and tons of people!!!!!! A picture from left to right

Once I got in, I started taking pictures!!!
I went into the nana room and took some pics of myself!

I bought this time the cd of Olivia, and got a ticket to go see Olivia again! Around One o’clock I started waiting in the line, it started at two o’clock.
While I was waiting dio or Distraught Overlord, I was too late to take a pic but my friend took a pic of it.

Meanwhile it was 2 o’clock and I got to see Olivia again for the second time. And she signed my cd this time. I was happy!

Once I got the picture I ran to the side where she was sitting and tried to take pictures from the window, It was very difficult because there were like 20 people trying to get pictures, the only pictures I got where these

After the signing session, I started looking at the expo while taking pictures.

I passed by the World of Warcraft booth I just couldn’t hold my self

I saw some really nice stuff

There where also fashion designers from Japan got some pics of their new clothing line:

Around 4 o’clock I won 2 tickets, one for the autograph of yoshiki of X-Japan and the other from the maker of Final fantasy Sakaguchi. I was really happy!
If I bought more than 30euro at a booth of Baby, you get a ticket for a autograph of Nana Kitade, the soundtrack singer of full metal alchemist, so I went to get it.

While waiting in the line, till she came HAKUEI came to the booth next to it also giving away autograph’s, member of PENICILLIN, MACHINE, NANO also a model.
I tried to take a pic.

Well finally she came I got an autograph and tried to take pictures.

Stuff I bought on day 2

JAPAN EXPO DAY 3
We got up at 7 again and stood in the line like for 2 hours.
It was the funniest day for standing in the line, people began to sing, started doing the wave, we did a quiz and got a free manga because we won!
Here are the three sides of the line:
After the 2 hours we finally got in, we ran to the gundam booth because they were giving away free gundam robots, I don’t like them, but I took five of them, maybe I can be able to sell them or give them away to friends…
After the gundam craziness we ran to another booth to get a signature of a High School (KIM Young-oh) and a drawing. It took almost a whole day, 6 people were before me and each person’s drawing and autograph took like a half hour. and they took also breaks, manwhaka’s gotta eat to ^^
While waiting I started making one gundam robot, and without paying attention 3 dudes stood before me, I couldn’t do nothing because I had no proof, another 1h30 to wait T.T stupid guys, go back in the line!

In the meanwhile it was time to get to the autograph of Sakaguchi but I couldn’t leave my place in the line, so my friend went for me, he took my Cactuar and let Sakaguchi sign it.

Finally around 4 o’clock it was my turn, I got a really nice drawing

I was really lucky because after my drawing they took another break of an hour, and after that they wouldn’t draw anymore, they would only give autograph, and my friend let me go first, so I feel really guilty!!!
There where other mangaka’s signing their manga’s
Junko Mizuno, author of Pure Trance, Cinderella, Hansel & Gretel et La petite Sirène.

I had to leave around 5 because it is a long ride back home; my friend was staying till the end, so I gave my poster of Yoshiki and the ticket for his autograph, so he could go get it for me.
I was happy he wanted to do that, after he gave me his place in the line of the mangaka, I really have to thank him again.
Sadly I don’t have the poster back so I can’t show any pics of it. You got to wait patiently.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well that was the last day of Japan expo, it was fun, and I had to wait for awhile but I was happy I went!
