Q: Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I have a Bachelors and a Master’s degree in biology and I work at a Medical Communications company. I have two horses, Meg and Rizz, who are my heart. I lived in Spain as a child and have found being able to speak two languages extremely useful.
Q: How old are you?
I´m 25 years Old
Q: What attracts you to cosplay?
The fun of being someone else for the day and the thrill when you figure out how to make the impossible possible.
Q: What do you do outside of cosplay?
I spend a lot of time with the horses though I don’t compete as much as I used to. I enjoy writing but haven’t had the opportunity to produce any new material for a while as cosplay has taken over. Cosplay eats time.
Q: Have you entered a cosplay competition before? Have you won prizes before?
I’ve been in a grand total of 5 cosplay competitions including the ECG 2012 finals. Aside from the ECG qualifier I have won once before at a Square Enix sponsored cosplay competition. A friend and I entered as Red XII and Cloud in his Wallmarket dress from FFVII. Our performance involved a thong and me essentially groping myself on stage. Brilliant fun!
Q: Was this your first con if not how many conventions have you attended before?
My first con was London MCM Expo May 2010. Since then I have attended… 13 or 14 cons? I’d say I’m still pretty new to this game
Q: What made you want to attempt this costume?
Gohan was my childhood crush. When I lived in Spain Dragonball was the programme I watched everyday before school. This was very much a nostalgia cosplay for me.
Q: How much time and money did the costume cost to make?
Probably about £150 when you take into account the latex chest.
Q: Did you have help, or did you construct it all by yourself?
A friend helped me cast my chest because that is pretty much impossible to do alone. Other than that I made the costume myself though I did stalk the cosplayers TechnoRanma and Glay on DA as they are the Queens of Dragonball cosplay.
Q: What was your first thought when they announced you had won the selections?
Q: What advice would you give to cosplayers who want to make this cosplay?
Stiffened felt is your friend
Q: What advice would you give to cosplayers about presenting yourself on stage in a contest?
Throw all of yourself into the performance and make sure you have no regrets
Q: have you in the past entered other big compo’s like WCS?
Not at all. Until ECG happened I was still in the novice category at cosplay competitions.
Q: Do you have an account with the website Cosplay.com/other social networking sites?
