Interview with Kaka-Extreme

Monday 8 March 2010

Kaka Extreme is a talented cosplayer.
She has a lot of cosplays on her completed less and each one is fantastic.
I really love her motivation and perfection she has.
I hope to see a lot more new cosplays of her in real life!

Q: When did you start cosplaying and how long for?

I started cosplaying around August 2007-8, which is like 2-3 years now, quite a long time if I look back into it XD

Q: What attracts you to cosplay?

Anime and Lolita was the main attractions that lead me into cosplaying, as when I started researching into these two subjects they lead me to expositions and conventions where people cosplayed, and seeing people making these wonderful and elaborate costumes really made me want to make one of my own and join in with the fun ^_^

Q: how did you get into anime and what lead you into cosplay?

That is thanks to a friend of mine, who lent me some of his collection to watch and from then I was addicted to it XD

Q: What has been your favorite cosplay?

This is very hard as all my cosplays are my favorite, but if I had to choose I would say my Zhen Ji from Dynasty Warriors 6, not only is she one of my favorite characters, as it was the first cosplay to link back to my culture and most of all… my first head ornament which I treasure a lot.

Q: What is your most memorable moment whilst cosplaying?

I would say meeting new people would be my most memorable moments whilst cosplaying, because not only do you meet new people who have the same interest but you also learn new things.

Q: Have you had any cosplays go wrong/encountered problems whilst making cosplays?

Who doesn’t encounter problems while making a costume? even the best cosplayer in the world would encounter problems, and I certainly have, one of my costumes that I’m not happy with was Ginchiyo Tachibana from Samurai Warriors 2 as the outcome didn’t turn out as I had want it, but of course due to this failure and mistakes we improve and learn 83

Q: Have you ever regretted cosplaying?

Only when I get too stressed in making a costume haha, so really no… because if I never encountered this hobby I would never have met so many people yet at the same time be where I am now

Q: Do your cosplays have a particular theme to them?

Most of my cosplays to link in with gaming characters as I tend to find them much more catchy and fun to wear, they tend to be more elaborate and colorful.

Q: Have you ever done group cosplay?

If so how did you find that experience Indeed I have been in a few cosplays, and I must say cosplaying in a group to begin with could be a little complicated at the beginning however in the end everything is well and you tend to really enjoy it 83 as it is a way to know your team mates better and joke about and plus you tend to not be so nervous as you know there are others beside you to support you

Q: What cosplays are you planning?

I have a few planned at this very moment, though my main ones I hope to have finished is one of my Final Fantasy XIII cosplays and Airi from North of the Fist Star

Q: Do you have a dream cosplay?

I do have a dream costume which is Shiva from FFXIII, who is the motor bike summon, bits are slowly being made, though still lots of technical work is need to allow me to actually able to wear such a head dress, and have everything balanced and able to walk without harming health

Q: How are the professional photo shoots usually managed?

professional photo shoots can be done two ways I guess:
1- you can book a professional photographer who will be coming to the exposition, where you will be told where to meet and what time and then it would be hand in hand money and get your photo shoot, they will then send you a CD with your pictures on 83
2- you can book a photographer and have a shoot in the studio, these tends to be much more expensive as you can get a professional who will take wonderful pictures and fully edited too these are the main ones but really it is up to you to have who you choose, yet at the same time you can walk around at a expo and convention and people would stop you to get a picture, some of these people are professional photographers too.

Q: Do you have one piece of advice that you would give to cosplay newbie’s?

My advice is to just go for it! You have a costume you want to do… go for it! Don’t hesitate because if you do that means you worry and then you wouldn’t dare to make it. so there fore you have a plan go for it, I cant promise you wont make a mistake but remember mistakes is want makes you improve and become better so never hesitate 83

Q: Do you have an account with the website Cosplay.com/other social networking sites?

I do have a account with cosplay.com which is Kaka Extreme
curecos: Kaka_extreme
live journal: kaka Extreme
Xanga: kaka Extreme
though my mostly used one is cosplayisland: kaka extreme XD
