About the character’s:
Sakura Kinomoto is a fictional character, the heroine of Clamp’s manga series Cardcaptor Sakura. In the English anime adaptation of the series, Cardcaptors, her name is changed to Sakura Avalon. She captures cards with Li Syaoran and thinks of him as only a friend until Li confesses to her. In the second movie, she returns these feelings.
Syaoran Li is a distant relative of Clow Reed (on Clow’s mother’s side), the creator of the Clow Cards. As such, he believes that he should be the one to inherit the Clow Cards. He is initially Sakura’s antagonist, trying to capture the cards for himself, and also finding himself competing with her for Yukito’s affections. From the moment they first meet, Sakura’s brother Toya appears to dislike Syaoran, which he later explains is because he had a vision long ago that Syaoran would “take something precious from [him]“.
